Babysitting Basics

The Red Cross Babysitting Basics class is designed primarily for youth ages 9-14, this course will prepare students to be better babysitters.

Topics include;
  • How to provide care for infants and children; how to stay safe;
  • What to do in an emergency; how to choose age-appropriate activities
  • How to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors.

Students will also learn the basics of starting a babysitting business. The course consists activities, games and tools babysitters can use to build their knowledge and skills and manage their babysitting business.

This course, which includes a final exam at the end. Students who successfully complete the course will receive an emailed certificate.

​Class Date - Monday March 20, 2023
Class Time - 1:00-5:00pm
Class Location - Pocahontas Aquatic Center 300 Geneva Drive, Pocahontas Arkansas 72455
​
  • Class Cost - $45​
  • Must have 4 registered for class to make

We will begin promptly at 1:00. Please be 10 minutes early.

  • ​Please remember to wear comfortable clothes, bring a bottled water, and a snack.​
  • This class is hands on and they will be learning and demonstrating first aid skills.
  • A t-shirt, shorts, and jacket or hoodie are the suggested attire to be more comfortable.
