Swim Lesson Swimwear Policy

Girls - a well fitting one piece or tankini.
Boys - jammers, swim trunks.

  • UV blocking swim shirts are not necessary inside the PAC pool. The ceiling and walls have a filter that reduces the exposure to sunlight.
  • When choosing modesty swimwear please ensure it is tight enough to allow for proper movement in the pool. Modesty swimwear should not be oversized as this can inhibit the properly learning of swim skills and contribute to in water difficulties.
  • Floaties, water wings, puddle jumpers, lifejackets or other wearable flotation devices are not permitted to be worn during swim lessons.

Swimsuit Fabric Types
  • For durability please look for suits that are poly, PBT or a blend
  • Lining is often spandex or lycra for comfort.

Lycra & Spandex - $
  • Does not hold up well in chlorine.
  • Rinse with cool, fresh water after each use.
  • Has poor resistance to prolonged sun exposure, so fabric will fade and fray.
  • Smooth & stretchy.
  • Less expensive

PBT - $$
  • Cost-effective and durable.
  • Chlorine- and heat-resistant.
  • Great stretch and elasticity, similar to spandex.
  • Quick-drying and low-water absorbency

Polyester - $$$
  • Chlorine-resistant and colorfast.
  • Durable material, even if not cared for properly.
  • Doesn’t stretch as much as Spandex; holds shape well.
  • Tighter, a little more difficult to put on for the first time.
